In the event that a center is developed in a state that requires a Certificate of Need (CON), we will be responsible for the CON filing and will pay all payroll and travel expenses associated with this activity. Typically this requires us to absorb thousands of dollars in expenses related to the application process, including market research, interaction with state agencies, travel, and administrative services. Fees for outside consultants and filing fees required to complete the application will be split amongst the partners, based on their percentage of ownership. The total cost for these services is typically between $30,000 and $50,000. However the CON application process and the costs associated with it vary from state to state. Actual costs could be above or below the range of typical costs. In the unlikely event that a CON application is denied, the partners will only be responsible for paying their share of the fees charged by outside service providers and the filing fees.
